Rumoh Aceh

The 'Rumoh Aceh' or traditional Acehnese house stands next to the Museum Aceh in the Keraton Compound survived from earth quake and tsunami.

The Rumoh Aceh is built 2.5-3.5 metres above the ground.

It has three rooms:
"   Ruang Depan, the ornatelycarved front gallery for receiving guests
"   Tungai, the sleeping quarters in the middle
"   Seuramo Likot, the back area reserved for women

The middle room is about 50-75 cm higher than the back and front room.
